These are the books, ideas, and thinkers that shape how Nódus reads institutional life.

BOOKS

Foundational

  • The founding argument: What appears on the surface is shaped by something deeper.

  • The libidinal logic that holds groups together, and what institutions call culture.

  • The structural tension between the subject and the institution, which is still unresolved.

  • The concepts Nódus works with daily: The subject, desire, the gaze, and repetition.

Psychoanalysis and institutional life

  • Why dysfunctional systems persist: organisational structure as collective defence against anxiety.

  • The Bion and Menzies Lyth framework applied across institutional settings, case by case.

  • Psychoanalytic thinking brought directly into the school. One of the closest precedents for what Nódus does.

  • On the psychic life of groups and institutions; the theoretical foundation for reading an organisation as a subject.

  • Why rational interventions fail: the Lacanian analysis of how institutions produce desire and sustain themselves through it.

ARTICLES AND ESSAYS

  • The essay that introduced the divided subject.

  • The original nursing paper. The argument that changed how institutions can be read.

  • On what happens when loss is not named. Directly relevant to how institutions handle change.

  • Vague language is not imprecision; it is a way of avoiding thought. The argument behind the Nódus position on language.

ORGANISATIONS

  • The international network of Lacanian psychoanalysis. The field Nódus works within.

  • The broader institutional home of Lacanian clinical and theoretical work.
